Description

 

The GEPaC Curriculum includes six courses:

  1. Geriatric Palliative Care: An Integrated Approach
  2. Geriatric Palliative Care: Person and Family Centered Care
  3. Geriatric Palliative Care: Communications
  4. Geriatric Palliative Care: Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  5. Geriatric Palliative Care: Multidimensional Suffering
  6. Geriatric Palliative Care: Quality of Life

Each course is approximately one hour in length and includes a pretest, learning module, posttest and evaluation. You must complete all four components to earn a CE/CME certificate for each course. Click the links below to enroll in each course.

1. Geriatric Palliative Care: An Integrated Approach

This course provides healthcare professionals the rationale for adopting and an integrated and evidence-based approach to care of the older adult that utilizes both palliative and geriatric care.

2. Geriatric Palliative Care: Person and Family Centered Care

This course provides healthcare professionals with a framework and strategies for person and family centered care.

3. Geriatric Palliative Care: Communications

This course provides healthcare professionals knowledge and skills to facilitate effective dialogue and healthcare decision making with older adults and their families, including establishing goals of care, breaking bad news and addressing family conflict.

4. Geriatric Palliative Care: Interdisciplinary Collaboration

This course provides the healthcare professional knowledge and skills for enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration to improve the holistic care and transitions across settings for older adults and their families.

5. Geriatric Palliative Care: Multidimensional Suffering

This course provides healthcare professionals evidence based knowledge and skills for addressing the multidimensional aspects of suffering, including pain and symptom management, grief and loss that is contextualized to the older adult’s needs and quality of life.

This course provides healthcare professionals evidence based knowledge and skills for addressing the multidimensional aspects of suffering, including pain and symptom management, grief and loss that is contextualized to the older adult’s needs and quality of life.
